ABOUT

Since its founding in 1923, Warner Bros. has shaped the entertainment industry with stories that have captivated audiences around the world. Over that time, the company built an extraordinary collection of assets related to those stories – a collection that was formalized in 1992 as the Warner Bros. Archives. Since then, our team has been actively collecting from our productions.

Our team conducts its work guided by our three principles:

Production Support

Even before cameras start rolling, the Archives team is actively involved with our current productions, making original artifacts available for reference or recreation. When directors call their final “Cut!”, it is our team that selects what pieces will become permanent additions to the Archives collection.

Preservation and Storage

The Archives team ensures the safety of our most valuable physical and digital assets by implementing best practices for long term preservation. The Archives maintains worldwide storage solutions tailored to the unique needs of our diverse collection. This consists of various physical preservation techniques including environmental controls, condition checks, custom enclosures, and geographic separation.

Promotion and Inspiration

From red carpet events to traveling museum exhibitions, the Archives work with internal and external groups to design, curate, install, and strike displays of original assets worldwide. The specialized, varied work our team conducts daily is done so with the utmost respect for the artifacts in our collection to guarantee their safety and viability for generations to come.
